Though technology and tools change, the need for critical-thinking, problem-solving, growth mindset, and collaboration do not. Maui Prep's Graham Center and Narayan Design Lab provide a laboratory for students to develop confidence in applying technology and design for practical purposes.

- Maui Prep Lower School technology demonstrates the "creation" aspects of technology rather than the "consumption." Lower school students engage with technology through basic robotics, including LEGO FIRST, a STEM-centered curriculum.
- Middle School students apply design principles and learn technology tools that they can apply to other classes as well as use as a springboard to further exploration in design, coding, 3D modeling, and robotics. Each quarter features a different directed focus.
- Upper School students are self-directed and choose a real-world problem or challenge to tackle, using appropriate technology tools and tutorials, and work to develop their skills in areas ranging from coding and robotics to architecture, computer graphics, digital photography, video production, and any other STEM area. The semester-long Visual Arts electives help to satisfy the 1.0 credit Visual/Performing Arts requirement for graduation.
Engineering and Design Curriculum
- Middle School students learn basic coding and electrical engineering, complete assigned design challenges, and work on individual and group design-build projects. Students will be able to create and code circuits, solve problems, and think creatively about design.
- Upper School students cover more advanced topics of circuitry, design and modeling, fabrication, and other creative design. Students engage in active learning and problem-solving with real-world design issues. The semester-long Visual Arts electives help to satisfy the 1.0 credit Visual/Performing Arts requirement for graduation.
